MNANGAGWA’S SECRET PLAN TO STAY IN POWER

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has said in public that he does not want to stay in power beyond 2028. But in private, things are different. His friends and supporters are working hard to make sure he stays in power until 2030. They are not hiding this plan. It is well-organized, and Mnangagwa knows about it. He is allowing it to happen.

This shows that Mnangagwa is not being honest. He wants people to believe he will follow the law, but he also wants to stay in power. By saying he does not want to extend his time, he can later say he had nothing to do with the campaign. This way, if his plan fails, he can say it was not his idea.

But there is a problem. Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga and his people in Zanu PF do not like this plan. Chiwenga has strong support from the military. He and his supporters do not want Mnangagwa to stay in power beyond 2028. This has created a fight inside Zanu PF, as both sides try to protect their power and their future.

Mnangagwa may say he does not want to stay in power, but his actions tell a different story. Many of his friends are openly saying that he should stay. One example is Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Owen “Mudha” Ncube. He was caught on video saying Mnangagwa should stay beyond 2028. Many of Mnangagwa’s top supporters are also pushing for this plan, showing that this is the real goal.

This is not new in Zimbabwe. Many leaders in the past have said they will follow the law but secretly worked to stay in power. They tell people one thing but do another behind closed doors. Mnangagwa is using the same trick. By denying his true plan, he makes it look like his supporters are acting on their own. If things go wrong, he can say it was not his fault.

But this strategy could cause big problems. The fight between Mnangagwa and Chiwenga is growing. Chiwenga has a lot of support in the military, and he may not let Mnangagwa stay in power without a fight. If this fight continues, it could weaken Zanu PF. It could also create more problems for Zimbabwe.

At the same time, Mnangagwa’s supporters are pushing hard for him to stay. They believe he is the only one who can keep Zimbabwe stable. They also know that if he leaves, they could lose their power and influence. This is why they are ignoring the constitution and working to extend his rule. They are more concerned about their own positions than what is best for the country.

If Mnangagwa stays in power beyond 2028, it will cause more division and conflict inside Zanu PF. It will also raise questions about democracy in Zimbabwe. The campaign to extend his time in office shows that politics in the country is not really about the people or the law. It is about leaders and their allies trying to hold on to power, no matter what.

The next few years will be important. Will Mnangagwa succeed in staying in power? Or will the fight inside Zanu PF stop his plan? Right now, it is hard to say what will happen. But one thing is clear: Mnangagwa’s public denial is not the truth. Behind the scenes, his allies are working day and night to keep him in power beyond 2028. The big question now is whether Zimbabweans will accept this or fight against it.

  1. You’re completely misrepresenting the reality of our leadership. Mnangagwa’s private consultations are part of a strategic effort to ensure continuity and stability during challenging times, not a covert plot to cling to power. Your narrative is nothing more than a politically motivated smear aimed at destabilizing our government

  2. Your piece unfairly twists internal discussions as a sign of dishonesty. Our President has always prioritized national stability, and the discussions you’re referring to are normal in any responsible government. Accusing him of secretly plotting to extend his rule is a baseless attempt to undermine our proven leadership.

  3. It’s obvious that your narrative is driven by political bias. Mnangagwa’s leadership is under constant threat from forces that want to see chaos, and his private consultations are a necessary part of safeguarding Zimbabwe’s future. Your allegations of duplicity ignore the hard work and sacrifices made by our government to keep the country stable.
