ZIMBABWE IS BLEEDING WHILE ZANU PF COUNTS ITS MILLIONS

Every day in Zimbabwe we lose millions of dollars because of ZANU PF corruption. This is not a small problem. This is not a mistake or poor planning. This is theft in open daylight. It is a group of people in power who do not care about the country or the people who live in it. They only care about money. They only care about themselves. While they enjoy a life of comfort, the rest of us suffer and struggle to survive.

A clear example is what happened with the Ministry of Tourism and the Sanganai Hlanganani Tourism Expo. For many years this event was held in Bulawayo. Bulawayo has the right buildings. It has the right space. It is cheaper. It works well for the expo. But this year they moved it to Mutare. Mutare is not ready. It needs more money to prepare. It is more expensive. So why did they move it there? Not for tourism. Not for progress. They moved it because some ministers want fast money from tenders and supplies. They want to give their friends and their companies deals so they can make more money.

This one decision has now doubled the cost of the event. It used to cost five hundred thousand dollars. Now it will cost millions. And this is not because Zimbabwe needs a change in venue. It is because people in government want to benefit from tenders, fake suppliers, and inflated invoices. This is what corruption looks like. And it is happening every day in every ministry in the country.

If you look at health, you will see the same story. Ambulances were bought at prices that make no sense. They cost three times more than they should. If you look at transport, you will find roads that were paid for but never built. If you look at education, you will find children learning under trees while money is being stolen by officials. Computers were bought at the price of cars. No one stops these people. No one asks them to explain. They keep doing the same thing again because they know they will never be punished.

ZANU PF has turned the government into a shop for personal gain. Ministers are not public servants anymore. They are merchants of corruption. Every project becomes a chance to make money. Every policy becomes a new opportunity to steal. Every national budget becomes a place where they plan how to loot more. Meanwhile the country is suffering. Hospitals have no medicine. Schools have no books. Teachers get very little pay. Pensioners die without dignity. But ZANU PF officials drive big cars, live in huge houses and travel around the world without shame.

This is not only bad politics. This is destruction of a whole nation. Every dollar stolen is a dollar that could have helped build a school. It is a dollar that could have paid a nurse or bought medicine for a hospital. Every corrupt deal is a lost chance to fix water problems, repair roads or support farmers. Corruption is killing Zimbabwe. It is taking our future away.

The worst part is that the people who do this know that the nation is suffering. They know there is no electricity. They know many families sleep without food. They know young people cannot find jobs. But they continue to steal. They lie every day. They blame sanctions to hide their greed. But it is not sanctions that moved the tourism expo to Mutare. It is corruption. It is ZANU PF greed.

Zimbabwe will not change if we stay quiet. We need new leadership. We need honest leaders who care about people, not about filling their pockets. Every day we stay silent, ZANU PF steals another million. Every day we look away, they destroy more of our children’s future. Enough is enough. We must speak. We must act. Zimbabwe is bleeding, and ZANU PF is holding the knife.

  1. I wish every Zimbabwean could read this. We are losing millions while the country sinks into darkness, hunger and hopelessness. Schools have no roofs, clinics have no paracetamol, and the whole tourism sector is dying, yet officials treat government budgets like personal bank accounts. This is not just mismanagement it is deliberate sabotage of the nation for personal enrichment.

  2. The worst part is how normalised corruption has become. People shrug and say “that’s how it is,” while billions disappear. If citizens don’t rise up and refuse this kind of daylight robbery, Zimbabwe will be a ghost country with only ZANU PF elites left enjoying stolen wealth. This piece is a necessary reminder that silence helps the looters, not the people.
