THE BATTLE FOR JUSTICE: DECONSTRUCTING ZANU PF’S STRANGLEHOLD ON ZIMBABWE

5

Securing justice, whether for seven individuals or thirty thousand victims at the mercy of the partisan military steered by Zanu PF, is a Herculean task. The dilapidated state of our legal framework beckons the query: Is justice a conceivable goal under a constitution that’s constantly undermined?

Demanding justice merely for a handful is an ill-advised notion, reflecting political naivety, particularly among the optimists yearning for a rejuvenated Zimbabwe. The nation’s fleeting memory overlooks the myriad victims who’ve borne the brunt of Zanu PF’s lawless atrocities comprising violence, rape, and murder.

The quest for justice for Silvia Maphosa, Ishmael Kumire, Gavin Dean Charles, James Chikandira, Brian Zhuwao, and Challenge Tauro appears to be a pipedream. The prevailing atmosphere is antagonistic to justice. The police, once a people’s service, now serves as a political apparatus for Zanu PF.

The constitution, erstwhile a symbol of hope, is now manipulated to cater to Zanu PF’s whims. A facade of law, impunity, and an utter lack of transparency and accountability now define our governance. The absence of legal equality and accountability renders justice a potential nemesis to Zanu PF.

As the plight of these seven victims propels us to seek justice, it’s imperative to dissect Zanu PF’s brutal, militant stance against peaceful democratic transition attempts. Grasping Zanu PF’s modus operandi is pivotal for our justice crusade.

Zanu PF’s insatiable greed and corruption have debased our constitution, facilitating power consolidation and blatant infringement of our fundamental rights. Unveiling justice for the named victims would unmask Zanu PF’s corrupt core.

Attaining justice mandates a political overhaul by Zanu PF, endorsing a serene power transition to the opposition, paving the way for genuine democracy. This implies an autonomous judiciary, beholden solely to the constitution, holding Zanu PF to account.

Additionally, a thorough revamp and reeducation of the military and police are indispensable, ensuring their impartiality and insulation from political meddling, thereby obliterating the nexus between the state and Zanu PF for a more open and accountable governance.

Justice for the victims hinges on a tranquil power transition, complemented by a responsible, accountable opposition. A constitutional commission for national healing and reconciliation, steered by transparency, accountability, rule of law, and legal equality principles is essential.

As we champion justice, let’s recall that our struggle transcends these seven victims, encompassing all oppressed by Zanu PF’s tyranny. This is the cornerstone of national healing, heralding a brighter horizon for Zimbabwe.

    1. Its not a secret kuti maZimbabweans atambura, including you. Lets be honest, who in Zimbabwe is even happy with just their salary from work? Its sad to see those benefiting nothing from defending Zimbabwe do this online. First we are Zimbabweans before anything else.

  2. A lot needs to be done to take ZANU PF out of Zimbabwe and whatever happens should be a collaborative effort of the general masses and different stakeholders. ZANU PF is too big to be taken down by a mere opposition political party.

  3. ZANU PF yatiuraya vakomana, Zimbabwe yashoreka pasi rose and we have suffered veduwoye.
Some of us grew up in a better Zimbabwe and we have witness this regime destroy our country.
